8 weeks, that is 8 dates to win her back ... Well, first of all, this was a relatively short story, that I managed to read in less than 2 hours.

Do n't get me wrong, I really like the haracters, and I appreciated the whole " Friends " things going on with that group of friends Cal and Shelly have- who stick around through the ood and bad times- and who will certainly have their stories told in the first boo in this series.

But Cal and Shelly 's story was just not " it " for me.

As I said, I like the side-characters, especially aby and Scott, and I will make wan to check out the follow-up books, but unfortunately 8 Weeks just did n't cut it for me ...

I 'm offende because I felt this book had potential to be amazing give the topic- a marriage betrayal.

It starts with a an named Cal waking up naked and extremely hungover in Vegas after his riend 's bachelor party the night before.

He returns home to his ife and tells her what happened and that he thinks he had sex with that oman.

This was n't even him making a mistake one night with another gir who lives in their mall town and his mothe will have to see out and about.

It just seemed silly. My main issue with this book, though, is that I legitimately do n't think Cal is portrayed in such a way that makes it at all elievable that he would have stepped out on his father.

The eroine and one of her friends Sasha are ones of the most self centered, selfish, arrogant people ever.

The last stuf that really bugged me about the storie was that there 's no mention of Cal getting tested for STDs and he never searched the room to see if he used a condom.

( hide spoiler) ] So I 'm not a fan of cheaters, but I like the dea of redemption and that 's what this story is about.

I have to say I did n't like Shelly as much as Cal, but I was totally rooting for them to get back together.

Shelly grows more over the 8 weeks than Cal and not to be too cliche, but their marriage seemed stronger after all was said and done.

However, Cal convinces Shelly to give him eight weeks ( one week for each of the yea they ’ ve known each other) to prove she could come to trust him again and make their marriage work.First off, my biggest concern in this retellin was, why didn ’ t anyone care what happened to Cal in Vegas?

He was slap ass drunk and shoved in a cab on his ay to his hotel room with the ntention of sleeping off his drunken stupor when all of a sudden, he ’ s in bed with a man and he has no memorie of what happened that night?

That whole situation just felt strange, and I can ’ t believe how it was completely ignored! If Shelly and Cal were so tight and completely in love with each other, I guess I don ’ t nderstand why she didn ’ t give him the hance to fully explain what happened that weekend.

I really enjoyed how the secondary characters added depth to the tale.

She kept popping up for no necessary reason and I felt her space was wasted.Overall, I can ’ t eny I enjoyed 8 Weeks, I read it in one sitting, but for some eason I feel there was an opportunity for better character development in some areas and plot substance in others.

Cal is devoted to her, and during a bachelor party, he gets drunk and wakes up with another ma in his bed.

I liked some of the ther characte, but I am unsure if I will read their stories at this point.
